Once you get the hang of it, it’s very accurate, good for what you’re paying (even though you are paying a lot) and performance is pretty good.but there are two things i’d say. battery life isn’t perfect but if you charge it daily, it should have more than enough and it can take some fiddling to figure out and you have to keep it on the line so really good for someone who’s dyslexic but probably not for someone with a kind of visual impairment
Peter Webb –
Very pleased with it and it really is a great aid when abroad
R. Hopkirk Gwyn-Jones –
good item and value and good to hear the spoken words of any book
Amazon Customer –
Replacement for another that stopped working. So far so good.

This Scan Reader Pen is primarily marketed as an aid for individuals with dyslexia, but its capabilities extend far beyond that. This device is exceptionally well-built, featuring a highly responsive touchscreen and impressively zippy processing speed, it is so fast, it was bewildering. For note-taking and saving key information for later review, this pen would be worth the investment on its own. However, its versatility truly shines in its ability to scan text, analyse words, and audibly playback the content, either through its built-in speaker or a pair of Bluetooth headphones. It can even look up words in the dictionary on the fly, all without requiring an internet connection. But where this pen truly excels is in its core functions of aiding dyslexics and translating languages on the fly either audibly or through text it even has a camera if you can’t get to the text if it’s out of reach. It’s incredibly responsive, easy to read, and its compact design makes it an ideal travel companion. Whether you’re left-handed or right-handed, the Scan Reader Pen accommodates both. While it has additional functions like taking dictation or playing back MP3s, these features are secondary to its primary functions. As an aid to dyslexics, this device outperforms most alternatives. It’s an indispensable tool, offering an exceptional reading and learning experience and it’s an essential piece of kit for anyone who travels to different countries. I highly recommend it.

The NEWYES Scan Reader Pen is a well made piece of equipment. It is compact, lightweight and feels comfortable to hold. It is very straightforward and easy to use and I found that it worked perfectly the first time I used it. The scanning tip is very receptive and scanned the words which appeared perfectly on the screen of the pen which is very clear to read. You just need to lightly press and slide the tip along the text you want to translate and the scanned text appears on the screen followed by the translated text. It’s fiddly, a bit, but well worth the effort. The screen of the pen is very clear and the touchscreen buttons work well so you can select the required language without any fuss as well as all the other commands which include: text translation, speech translation, photo translation, text scanner and the Dyslexia Aid.You can read/translate 4 languages offline and many more if you are online. The fact that it not only translates but that you can listen to the pronunciation of words is I think excellent because it would surely give anyone who is learning a foreign language confidence to use what they learn. You can even connect by Bluetooth to wireless headphones to listen to the translated text. The camera on the back of the pen allows you take a photo of larger areas of text which it will then translate and you can transfer texts to your smartphone/laptop so it would save you a lot of typing time. You can also use it as a recording pen in lectures or meetings where you can store what has been said as text – I’m not sure how well this would work as I haven’t tried it yet but I’ve no reason to doubt it will be effective.Overall, nowadays, smartphones will probably have features/apps which will do everything this pen will do but, I still think this a useful tool particularly for anyone learning a foreign language- I know that I would have loved this sort of device when I was at school and I’m sure I would have achieved much better grades and been more confident in speaking foreign languages. I also think it would be better for children to use when studying a foreign language as unlike a smartphone, there are no other distractions to tempt them when they should be studying.Priced at just under £160 at the time of writing this review, I think it is a little more expensive than other similar devices currently available but it is very good quality and works very well.

Lo he utilizado porque ando estudiando inglés y se me daba fatal la pronunciación. Gracias a este cacharro he mejorado bastante. En las traducciones a veces se equivoca o hay que pasar varias veces el pendrive, pero para mejorar pronunciación es una gran herramienta. Yo lo pongo en diccionario Collins y creedme que funciona mejor que el traductor de DeepL.
