Grandson loves it.Does what it says but more for long weekend with toys, would not contain enough room for clothing etc for anything longer than a week a week would be with no extras just clothes.Airline said it had to go in hold not the cabin, after much deliberating, discussion & little on crying they allowed it to be taken on board. So not automatically classed as hand luggage.Didnt understand the refusal as there were other passengers who had larger holdalls that took two people to lift & fit it in the whole of the locker space & nothing said to them.

I remember seeing these on Dragons Den years ago and thinking wow what a brilliant invention and also thinking and saying to my husband what a million other people have probably thought/said – “Why on earth couldn’t I have thought of them!”. Hat’s off to the inventors as these suitcases truly are fantastic and so well thought out. Little would I have known back then that I would be purchasing two of these in the future for my own little ones and I have just purchased Tipu the Tiger and Harley the Ladybug for my son and daughter and they absolutely LOVE them.I purchased both Trunki suitcases as part of Amazon’s recent Prime Day and so managed to get them both at a great price for an upcoming holiday we are all going on. The suitcases haven’t been tested out thoroughly for travel as yet but wow they have definitely been tested out at home as ride-on’s by both of my children who have been whizzing around them in the house for the last few days very happily. My baby daughter is well under the recommended 3 years and over age for the suitcase but she has been playing with her big Brother’s toys for quite some time now and is used to her other ride-ons and so is more than capable of riding around the house on Harley. My son LOVES his Tipu Tiger Trunki as he loves Lions and Tigers at the moment (going through a Disney Lion King phase at the moment) and so they both think their new ‘toys’ are brilliant. One difference in packaging was that my daughter’s Harley the Ladybug came in a lovely Trunki cardboard box but my son’s Tipu the Tiger just came in a plain Amazon box, which wouldn’t have bothered me had I not seen the proper Trunki packaging so I do wish they would have both been delivered in the same consistent packaging. The Trunki cardboard box also doubles up as a little kennel for your suitcase animal and so as they both didn’t come with one I couldn’t make up one for one child and the other child not have one (parents of two or more children will understand) as the fighting even at their ages wouldn’t have been worth it. So yes a little disappointed with that minor point. The suitcases both come with a luggage strap which also doubles as a pull lead for when your little one is using the suitcase as a ride-on and they also come with a little paper passport which your little one can make if they are old enough. The Ladybug suitcase also came with a Autumn/Winter 2014 catalogue and the Tiger suitcase came with a Spring/Summer 2015 catalogue. The suitcases measure approx 46cm long by 22cm wide by 29cm high each and have an elasticated clothes holder or teddy seatbelt as Trunki likes to call them and a little cloth internal pocket inside. Both suitcase have little horns for your little one to hold on to when using the suitcases as ride-ons and also have carry handled in the middle in addition to the luggage strap/tow lead. The little clips on either side open with a push of their buttons so they don’t just pop open and there is a little plastic key on the end of the luggage strap to secure the cases.A brilliant invention that both of my children LOVE and I know will be nice and handy for taking away some of their clothes and toys etc on our upcoming holiday, plus they have the added benefit of a bit of holiday fun for them to be used as ride-ons too whilst we are away. The fact they come with a five year guarantee too makes this one of my best purchases and I can’t believe I remember watching these on television years before I even contemplated having little ones and now having them for my two little angels.

I bought this for my 2 year old for an upcoming trip. Toddler meanwhile has use of it as a sit-on toy indoors, a good way to get familiar with it and practise using it. The Trunkis arent cheap – my own case cost about the same price! – but they’re a great little invention.

My daughter loves it. So much fun in the airport.

I had read almost every review going for the Trunki suitcases before making my purchase (and of course asking my daughters which designs were their favourites). We ordered one ‘Penelope’ (the purple princess carriage) and one ‘Harley’ (the ladybug) as Christmas presents last Christmas and both are equally wonderful. Some people have commented that the Trunkis are not very big, but we took ours on their first outing to Disneyland Paris and managed just fine. We packed enough clothes for both children for three days (a spare outfit for each day), plus pj’s, a TOMY winnie the pooh light up projecter, four meduim sized cuddly toys, plus nappies, wipes and a grow bag for our youngest. Everything fit in perfectly and the overall size of the suitcases makes them manageable for children, any bigger and they would simply be impractical. Both our 18 month old and our 4 year old are able to ride on them and pull them along by themselves, and our 4 year old is also able to lift hers by the shorter handles and carry it along on her own too (although the long extendable strap comes in handy when they get tired of riding/pulling/carrying and mummy or daddy are left to contend with carrying them!).Both our children enjoy riding on the Trunkis (either kicking themselves along or being pulled along) although I would say that they aren’t suitable for pulling along a small child at a train station or airport. Our four year old sits on hers perfect well and we were able to pull her along, but our 18 month old very often looses her balance when playing on hers at home, so we didn’t risk letting her use it out and about (much to her annoyance!).If travelling somewhere where your luggage will be around lots of other peoples bags (like at a train station or an airport, rather than just going in your car to visit family) then I would strongly recommend attaching a luggage tag, or tying something brightly coloured to your Trunki, as they are very popular and we found in our train carriage alone there were four other Trunkis (thankfully different), but while waiting at passport control we spotted two identical ones belonging to the family behind us (a Penelope and a Harley), so it would be easy for them to get mixed up.The design of the suitcase is clever, with lots of handles/straps, a locking mechanism, and pockets within, plus the Penelope Trunki came with a pink foam wand and tiara (although sadly our kitten ate these before our fist trip!). I do agree with some comments about the quality of the plastic clips on the ends of the long straps and where these connect to the suitcase. Ours have held up so far, but I can see why some people have had these parts break and am hoping that ours will last, because without them it would be difficult to use properly. However, as suitcases and luggage go, these cases are by far the most colourful and amazing thing out there. I can’t imagine my children having so much fun with any of the other types of bags or suitcases that you can currently get. While our ‘boring’ Samsonite case gets unpacked and swiftly taken up into the loft after each trip, the Trunkis remain in the house for hours of fun games that our two girls create.I would highly recommend this product and hope that anyone buying one has a much fun as our household does!
